Are you a job seeker?……. Then you need caution

By : Admin )

Wouldn’t it be great to receive an email or Whatsapp message with an immediate job offer without having to search, apply, interview, and negotiate? However, it can only happen in your dream or imagination. It’s sure to be a scammer on his prowl.

Of course, scammers have always existed, but the ever-increasing use of technology has enabled them to get creative and affect more people.

Work-from-home job scams have been around for decades, but statistics show that job scams increased multi-fold during and after the COVID-19 crisis hit the world.

Job seekers can unfortunately fall victim to various fraudulent practices. Here are some common methods by which they may be cheated:

1. Fake job postings: Scammers may create attractive job advertisements for non-existent positions or use the names of reputable healthcare organizations to lure job seekers.

2. Application fees: Some fraudulent individuals or agencies may request payment for processing applications or securing interviews, which is typically not a legitimate practice.

3. Certification or training scams: Be cautious of offers that require you to pay for unnecessary certifications, training programs, or courses that promise guaranteed job placements.

4. Job placement agencies: While many legitimate job placement agencies exist, there are some that charge high fees for their services without delivering on their promises or providing genuine job opportunities.

5. Don’t forget to research when you get a job offer. Try to check if they have a website and contact details. If they don’t have a website or a social media page be very careful. Or if you found the website, then recheck the contact details with the one provided on the offer letter.

6. Be cautious if any employer or recruitment firm insists on charging service fees, as it is likely an indication of either a fraudulent operation or financial instability. Paying such fees could potentially put your salary and employment conditions at risk in the future. Therefore, no matter how desperate you may be for a job, it is crucial never to make payments in order to secure employment..

To avoid falling prey to such scams, it is important to research job opportunities and employers thoroughly, verify the legitimacy of job postings and recruiters. It can also be helpful to seek recommendations from trusted healthcare professionals or use reputable job search platforms.
